Meet my grandmother, Rosa.
She’s my musical inspiration. A classically trained pianist, she raised 6 children and played the church organ well into her 70s. She now resides in heaven (“Lani” in Hawaiian), so I named this music studio for her: Rosalani.
She believed music should be fun and shared with family, friends, and audiences. She believed in learning as much as possible both by ear and by reading and writing music.
She started as a classical pianist and organist, but as was customary in those days, she set aside a career in music to have a family instead. She passed her knowledge and love of music on to her children, grandchildren, and beyond.
I dedicate Rosalani Harp & Piano Academy and the love of my students to her memory and her music.
