Introducing Syncopation
Amelia’s zoom workshop will introduce syncopation (beats that fall in between the big beats of a measure – e-and-a of 1 etc.), and techniques for improvisation applying these topics to the folk tune, Moliendo Cafe, by Hugo Blanco.
Three Syncopated Bass Lines
Using Moliendo’s syncopated melody, you’ll learn three different syncopated bass line patterns and work to apply syncopation while playing melody.
The Stubborn Left Hand and Improv in the Right
Once we get comfortable with bass line patterns, we will work on techniques for improvisation practicing with a left hand ostinato (repeating) pattern used during the improvisatory section of Moliendo Cafe.
Apply This Process to Any Song!
This workshop will equip students with rhythms patterns and improvisation tools application to any song of their choosing.
